Deputy Chief of Police of the Russian Interior Ministry Directorate for Naberezhnye Chelny Rail Nazmiev announced during a press conference at the city hall that the "Fir Tree" operational-preventive operation will take place in the city until December 31. Transport and points of sale will be checked. For illegal felling of trees, one can receive a fine of up to 300 thousand rubles.
The Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation provides for an administrative fine of up to 4 thousand rubles for individuals, up to 40 thousand rubles for officials, and up to 300 thousand rubles for legal entities for the illegal felling of forest plantations. In addition, if the damage exceeds 5 thousand rubles, criminal liability is also provided for violation of environmental legislation.
The police are also exercising control over public spaces.
«The territory of Azatlyk Square has been under 24-hour guard since December 13. From December 18, from 07:00 to 19:00, a patrol post of two police officers is assigned to the Christmas tree town territory. In the evening, from 18:00 to 23:00, additional police forces will be deployed to ensure public order», – said Rail Nazmiev
To ensure public order from December 31 to January 1, it is planned to involve more than 150 police officers at the central city Christmas tree. In addition, security will be provided by employees of Rosgvardiya, "Forpost", and municipal employees. Traffic police crews will be working.
On Christmas night, police officers will also be involved at places where religious rites are held.
All main Christmas tree areas will be fenced off, and the passage of citizens will be organized through screening procedures with the establishment of checkpoints.
